HEPI Trustee, scientist and academic, Brian Follett was a member of both the UFC (Universities Funding Council) and HEFCE. He was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Warwick for 8 years until 2001.
Prior to Warwick he was Head of Biology at the University of Bristol for 14 years. Subsequent to Warwick he was the founding Chair (non-executive) of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) for seven years, and Chair of the TTA/TDA (Training and Development Agency for Schools) for six years. He was also involved until 2011 in the government's STEM agenda for schools and universities.
Currently, he remains a (visiting) Professor in the Department of Zoology, University of Oxford where he teaches undergraduate courses in vertebrate physiology, and is a Governor of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
