Party Conference season is upon us once again. And judging by the mounting debates about tuition fees over the summer, higher education policy is bound to feature prominently in the Conference programmes over the next few weeks.
To ensure the key issues are being addressed, HEPI is pleased to announce that we will be co-hosting roundtable seminars with UPP at both the Labour and Conservative Party Conferences this year. The theme of both seminars will be:

Labour Party Conference
Shadow Minister for the Industrial Strategy Chi Onwurah MP will be speaking alongside Professor Graham Galbraith, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Portsmouth, with Sonia Sodha, Chief Leader Writer for The Observer, in the Chair.

Conservative Party Conference
Neil O’Brien OBE MP, former lead on Northern Powerhouse and Industrial Strategy at Number 10 Policy Unit, will be speaking alongside Howard Bernstein, former Chief Executive of Manchester City Council with Nick Hillman, Director of HEPI, in the Chair.

HEPI will also be present throughout both the Labour and Conservative Party Conferences and will be taking part in other organisations’ events. HEPI Director Nick Hillman will be chairing the MoneySavingExpert panel at the Conservative Party Conference on Are student loans broken? This panel will see Martin Lewis, Founder of MoneySavingExpert.com speaking alongside Jo Johnson MP, Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation.
