HEPI and London South Bank University (LSBU) are delighted to announce the webinar launch of this year’s English Social Mobility Index on Tuesday 3 December 2024, from 12pm to 1pm.

The annual Index, first established in 2021, is compiled by LSBU and published by HEPI. It compares the performance of individual English higher education providers and measures the social mobility of graduates. The Index measures the social distance travelled by graduates from each institution as well as the proportion of graduates so transported. It combines access, continuation and outcome measures for undergraduates for all modes of study (except apprenticeships).

Join us for a lunchtime webinar to explore and discuss the 2024 results.

The panel of speakers will include:

  • Professor David Phoenix, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, London South Bank University
  • John Blake, Director for Fair Access and Participation, Office for Students
  • Professor Shirley Congdon, Vice-Chancellor, University of Bradford
  • Professor Lee Elliot Major, Professor of Social Mobility, University of Exeter
  • Chaired by Rose Stephenson, HEPI Director of Policy and Advocacy
