Ahead of this year’s A-Levels results day, HEPI is pleased to host the next in our series of ‘In Conversation’ webinars, this time with Clare Marchant, UCAS Chief Executive. At this event, Clare will make some opening remarks before taking part in a discussion with Nick Hillman, HEPI Director. The session will conclude with Rachel Hewitt, HEPI’s Director of Policy and Advocacy, putting some questions from the audience to Clare.

So disappointing that Clare reiterates the potentially disclosive nature of the predicted grades. It is not disclosive and they cannot explain how it is. If resource was the problem we would have done it for free for them.
Along with SNC’s the UCAS predicted grades were the keys to avoiding this entire mess this year. They could have put themselves at the heart of avoiding this national crisis.
I’d love to know what UCAS’ fantastic analytical team were doing which was more important than this national crisis in grades/uni entry. If capacity is a constraint on publishing game changing data then you re-prioritise to meet the needs of the crisis. UCAS & only UCAS could have avoided the crisis we now face.
