Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kent from 2007 to 2017 and President of UUK from 2015 to 2017. She is currently President of The Biochemical Society and Deputy Chair of the Open University.
She has previously been President of the Royal Society of Biology and HE adviser on the board of the University of Hertfordshire. She was a member of the Council for Science and Technology from 2011 to 2019, chair of Public Health England (2018-2021) and previously a trustee of Institute for Research in Schools.
Before joining Kent, she was Chief Cxecutive of the BBSRC which she joined from Birkbeck, University of London where she was Professor of Biomolecular Science and Vice-Master.
