Ellen Bassam

Ellen is the Communications Manager at HEPI. Prior to joining in October 2026, she managed communications at The Utley Foundation and previously worked in environmental communications and public affairs at Seahorse Environmental. She also worked at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership and the UN Refugee Agency.
She is particularly interested in issues concerning sustainability, wellbeing, AI and widening participation. Ellen brings experience of translating complexity policy and research into accessible and engaging communications.
