HEPI and Unite Students are delighted to announce the launch of the fifth annual Unite Students’ Applicant Index 2026 on Wednesday 24 June, with a webinar at 11am to 12pm.

First launched in 2022, in partnership with HEPI, the Index systematically tracks university applicants’ attitudes each year, asking students about their lives before university and offering UK higher education institutions an indicator of what to expect when students arrive in the autumn.

The annual survey covers themes including: finance, social, community, wellbeing, resilience, learning, employment, independence and sustainability, providing insight into the needs, wants and level of preparedness of a new cohort of first-year students.
