Re-engineering universities

Higher education has changed in many ways in the last two decades, and institutions of higher education have changed as well.  The nature of what is provided, the students, the way education is delivered, the role of technology, the skills required to run them and society’s expectations will be different for tomorrow’s universities than for those of yesterday.  Yet, despite the transformations, in many important respects the university of today is recognisably similar to that of yesterday.  What needs to change and what to stay the same?  This seminar will address the question of how universities can be re-engineered so as to keep their essence, while maintaining them as vibrant and relevant institutions.

Speakers:  Professor Rick Trainor, Principal of Kings College London and President of UniversitiesUK; Mike Boxall, Managing Consultant at PA Consulting
